Dungy: Colts Should Draft Luck, Maybe Even Trade Manning
Tony Dungy believes the Colts should draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck if given the opportunity.
"I think you have to take him," Dungy told The Dan Patrick Show on Friday.
Dungy said Peyton Manning "would handle it OK, because you know it's coming."
Indianapolis is winless. Dungy coached the Colts to a Super Bowl victory before he retired and Jim Caldwell took over.
"I would see him competing and playing as long as he wanted," Dungy said. "If it gets to the point to where, hey, he comes back and it looks like he's gonna play three or four more years, and you say -- we've got Andrew Luck, we've got an asset -- we trade him (indicating Peyton)."

With the trade deadline looming on Tuesday afternoon, the Bengals are denying trade rumors involving veteran quarterback Carson Palmer.
On NFL Network, coach Marvin Lewis was asked if there was any chance the Bengals would trade Palmer to the Raiders, who are now in need of a quarterback.
His response was the same it has been since February -- Palmer has retired and the team has moved on.
"I think our organization is very firm in the statement that Carson is, as everybody knows here, retired," Lewis said. "We have moved on and that's enough to be said because we don't need to make anymore headlines for any reason other than what we do on Sundays. That's the only thing that counts."
At Least Two Teams Interested In Forte
As the Bears continue to drag their feet in talks with Matt Forte about as contract extension, at least two teams have had internal discussions about trading for the running back.
Chicago hasn't expressed any intention of dealing their franchise back, but it hasn't stopped the other teams from exploring the possibility of acquiring Forte.
The interest in Forte is not expected to facilitate any last-minute surprises before the trade deadline Tuesday.
"I'm glad teams are interested," Forte said. "For me to be out here working as hard as I do and not have a contract extension, you kind of get that feeling of being unappreciated. I just hope that when this year is over and I play as well as I've been playing, that if the Bears don't reward me with a contract, another team will."
Chris Harris Wants Bears To Trade Him
The Bears have given safety Chris Harris and his agent, Albert Elias, a chance to explore a trade to another team.

However, with his contract, which pays him $1.095 million this season, set to expire, other teams may be reluctant to give up a draft pick for Harris, even though a handful of teams have needs.
"I'm pretty sure the percentage of a trade going down is not very high, considering the amount of time we have," Harris said. "But crazier things have happened."
